Removal & Installation

  1. HO2S may be mounted in exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe depending on engine application. Some engines use 2 HO2Ss.
  2. On models equipped with 2 HO2Ss, one HO2S is mounted before catalytic converter and one is mounted after converter.
  3. HO2S is equipped with a permanent pigtail, which must be protected from damage during HO2S servicing. Disconnect HO2S electrical connector. Using appropriate socket or crow foot wrench, remove HO2S from exhaust system. Clean exhaust system threads. If HO2S is to be reused, apply anti-seize compound to HO2S threads.
  4. A new HO2S will already have anti-seize compound applied to threads. Install HO2S and tighten sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Connect HO2S electrical connector. Place HO2S wiring harness in clips as necessary.
