Rear Oxygen Sensor

Rear oxygen sensor is mounted on exhaust pipe, behind catalytic converter. Heater is used on rear oxygen sensor so sensor reaches operating temperature quicker and maintains sensor at operating temperature during all operating modes. Rear oxygen sensor produces a small electrical voltage input signal to Engine Control Module (ECM) depending on amount of oxygen content in the exhaust gas. ECM uses input signal for controlling air/fuel ratio.
