Knock Sensor

Knock sensor delivers input signal to ECM when a knock is detected on one of the cylinders. As the intensity of the knock increases, the knock sensor input signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM) increases. ECM uses input signal for controlling ignition timing in relation to strength of input signal from knock sensor. Knock sensor is located on side of cylinder block, just below intake manifold. Knock sensor contains a 2-pin Gray connector with White and Black/White wires in the connector.
