Front Oxygen Sensor

Front oxygen sensor is mounted on outlet elbow on turbocharger, near exhaust pipe. Heater is used on front oxygen sensor so sensor reaches operating temperature quicker and maintains sensor at operating temperature during all operating modes. Front oxygen sensor produces a small electrical voltage input signal to Engine Control Module (ECM) depending on amount of oxygen content in the exhaust gas. ECM uses input signal for controlling air/fuel ratio.
