Park/Neutral Switch: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install park/neutral switch with bolts loosely installed. Install manual control lever. Install and tighten manual control lever bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install shift cable on manual control lever with nut on cable loosely installed.
  2. To adjust park/neutral switch, place shift lever in Neutral. Rotate park/neutral switch so hole end of manual control lever aligns with hole in body on park/neutral switch. See Fig 1.
  3. Tighten park/neutral switch bolts to specification. Ensure park/neutral switch does not move when tightening the bolts. Lightly pull end of shift cable toward manual control lever and tighten nut on shift cable. Note park/neutral switch terminal identification. See Fig 2.
  4. Using ohmmeter, check that continuity exists between designated terminals in relation to shift lever position. See PARK/NEUTRAL SWITCH CONTINUITY table. If continuity is not as specified, readjust park/neutral switch.
