Throttle Body: Installation

- Using NEW "O" ring, install idle air control motor on throttle body (if removed). Install and tighten idle air control motor bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install throttle position sensor on throttle body in proper position with screws loosely installed on throttle body (if removed). Perform STEP 1. See Figure.
- Rotate throttle position sensor 90 degrees on throttle body to proper position and tighten retaining screws to specification. Perform STEP 2. See Figure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminals No. 3 and 4 on throttle position sensor. See Figure. Continuity should exist with throttle fully closed. No continuity should exist with throttle fully open.
- If no continuity exists with throttle fully closed, loose retaining screws. Rotate throttle position sensor counterclockwise. Tighten retaining screws and recheck continuity.CAUTION: Throttle body gasket must be installed with protrusion area in proper position. See Fig 1.
- To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure using NEW gaskets. Ensure throttle body gasket is installed with protrusion area in proper position. See Fig 1. Tighten throttle body bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill cooling system.
