Fuel Rail & Injectors: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  under FUEL SYSTEM.
  2. Remove bolts and disconnect high pressure fuel line with "O" ring from rear of fuel rail. See Figure. Disconnect fuel return line and vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
    CAUTION: When removing fuel rail, use care not to allow injectors to fall from fuel rail.
  3. Remove hose for PCV valve. Disconnect connectors at injectors. Remove fuel rail bolts. Remove fuel rail with injectors as an assembly. DO NOT allow injectors to fall from fuel rail. Remove insulators for fuel rail and injectors.
  4. If removing fuel pressure regulator from fuel rail, remove bolts, fuel pressure regulator and "O" ring from fuel rail. If removing injectors from fuel rail, remove injectors, grommets and "O" rings from fuel rail.
