Throttle Position Sensor: Installation

- Install throttle position sensor on throttle body in proper position with screws loosely installed on throttle body. Perform STEP 1. See procedures in Fig 1.
- Rotate throttle position sensor 90 degrees on throttle body to proper position and tighten retaining screws to specification. Perform STEP 2. See procedures in Fig 1. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table.
- Using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminals No. 3 and 4 on throttle position sensor. See Fig 2. Continuity should exist with throttle fully closed. No continuity should exist with throttle fully open.
- If no continuity exists with throttle fully closed, loose retaining screws. Rotate throttle position sensor counterclockwise. Tighten retaining screws and recheck continuity.
