Throttle Position Sensor: Installation

  1. Install throttle position sensor on throttle body in proper position with screws loosely installed on throttle body. Perform STEP 1. See procedures in Fig 1.
  2. Rotate throttle position sensor 90 degrees on throttle body to proper position and tighten retaining screws to specification. Perform STEP 2. See procedures in Fig 1. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  3. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between terminals No. 3 and 4 on throttle position sensor. See Fig 2. Continuity should exist with throttle fully closed. No continuity should exist with throttle fully open.
  4. If no continuity exists with throttle fully closed, loose retaining screws. Rotate throttle position sensor counterclockwise. Tighten retaining screws and recheck continuity.
