Interior Light Test 7A - Key-In Light Is On Constantly

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Plymouth Breeze, 1996 Dodge Stratus, and 1996 Chrysler Cirrus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION section in this article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.

Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument panel 10-pin connector at BCM. Ensure connector is clean and not damaged. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A. If key-in light goes off, replace BCM. If key-in light does not go off, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire.
