Test 3A - Identifying Climate Control Related Codes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Eagle Vision, 1995 Dodge Intrepid, 1995 Chrysler New Yorker, 1995 Chrysler LHS, and 1995 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Using DRB, record and erase trouble codes. Set ATC control to 75°F (24°C). Start engine and check for Body Control Module (BCM) trouble codes. If no trouble codes are present, slowly change ATC control from 65°F (18°C) to 85°F (29°C), and then back to 65°F (18°C) while looking for BCM trouble codes. If no trouble codes are present, go to next step. If trouble code(s) are present, perform specified test. See TEST 3A TROUBLE CODES table.
- If there are no trouble codes present, slowly change ATC control from 60°F (16°C) to 90°F (32°C), and then back to 60°F (16°C). Then push each of 8 mode buttons in turn, waiting 30 seconds after each is pushed. If no trouble codes are present, go to next step. If trouble codes are displayed, note first trouble code displayed, and perform specified test for that trouble code. See TEST 3A TROUBLE CODES table.
- Calibrate mode doors by simultaneously pressing and holding floor, mix and defrost buttons until display begins to flash. Check DRB for any trouble codes. If trouble codes are displayed, note first trouble code displayed, and perform specified test for that trouble code. See TEST 3A TROUBLE CODES table. If no trouble codes are displayed, operate automatic A/C system while observing performance, and then go to TEST 2A.
NOTE:
If more than one trouble code is displayed, repair code(s) related to a short circuit first.
