PCV System

  1. Disconnect ventilation hose from PCV valve. PCV valve is located at rear corner of valve cover. Remove PCV valve from valve cover.
  2. Reinstall ventilation hose on PCV valve. Start engine and allow engine to idle. Place finger over opening at valve cover end of PCV valve.
  3. Intake manifold vacuum should exist and plunger in PCV valve should move when finger is placed over opening at end of PCV valve. If intake manifold vacuum does not exist, or plunger fails to move, clean PCV valve, check vacuum supply and recheck operation. If vacuum exists, but proper operation cannot be obtained, replace PCV valve.
