Test No. 1

  1. Using a voltmeter, check for voltage between ground and Data Link Connector (DLC) terminal No. 16. See Fig 1 . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check connectors between fusible link and DLC. Verify if original problem still exists. If problem still exists, check wiring between fusible link and DLC. Repair as necessary.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and DLC terminals No. 4 and 5. If continuity exists at both terminals, replace scan tool. If continuity does not exist at both terminals, check wiring between ground and DLC. Repair as necessary.
