Using A Voltmeter (AWD)

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect analog voltmeter between DLC terminal No. 8 and either terminal No. 4 or 5 (ground). See Figure .
  2. Start engine. Stored DTCs will be indicated by sweeps of voltmeter needle. Long sweeps represent first digit of DTC; short sweeps represent second digit. For example, 4 long sweeps and 3 short sweeps indicate DTC 43. If more than one DTC is stored, lowest number will be displayed first.
  3. After DTCs are recorded, perform indicated test procedure. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTC)  table and perform appropriate DTC TEST.
  4. After repairs, erase DTCs. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  . If DTCs cannot be cleared, ABS-ECU is currently detecting a malfunction.
