Speed Control Relay

  1. Disconnect and remove speed control relay. Relay is attached to speed control servo assembly located at right rear of engine compartment. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between relay terminals No. 1 and 2 and terminals No. 3 and 4. Continuity should exist. If continuity does not exist in both tests, replace speed control relay.
  2. If continuity exists in both tests, apply battery voltage to relay terminal No. 1. Apply ground to relay terminal No. 2 using jumper wires. See Fig 1. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between relay terminals No. 3 and 4. Continuity should not exist. If continuity exists, replace speed control relay.
