Test 24B - Turn Signal On

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB, read turn signal lever switch status. Move turn signal lever to left turn position. If DRB display does not pulse between OPEN and CLOSED, go to step 4). If DRB display pulses between OPEN and CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Move turn signal lever to right turn position. If DRB display pulses between OPEN and CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). If DRB display does not pulse between OPEN and CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM Natural connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at BCM Natural connector terminal No. 14 (Tan wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Tan wire between BCM Natural connector and right rear turn signal and stop lamp relay. See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM.
  4. If DRB display does not pulse between OPEN and CLOSED instep 1), turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Ensure turn signal lever is in left turn position. Measure voltage at BCM Black connector terminal No. 5 (Light Green wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Light Green wire between BCM Black connector and left rear turn signal and stop lamp relay. See Figure .
