Test 24A - Turn Signal On

. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
NOTE:
Body controller sends message after sensing turn signal on for .6 mile.
- Check turn signal operation. If turn signals do not operate properly, see STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article in ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT. If turn signals operate properly and EVIC panel does not display TURN SIGNAL ON, go to TEST 24B. If turn signals operate properly and EVIC panel displays TURN SIGNAL ON, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DRB, read turn signal lever switch status. Ensure turn signal lever is in OFF position. If DRB displays CIRCUIT OPEN, replace Body Control Module (BCM). If DRB does not display CIRCUIT OPEN, go to next step.CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at BCM Black connector terminal No. 5 (Light Green wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair Light Green wire for short to voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM Natural connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure voltage at BCM Natural connector terminal No. 14 (Tan wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair Tan wire for short to voltage. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace BCM.
