Test 19A - Tail Lamp Out

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn headlamps on. If all tail lamps work, go to TEST 25A  . If all tail lamps do not work, go to next step.
  2. Start engine. If all tail lamps are out, go to TEST 30A  . If all tail lamps are not out, and EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, go to TEST 20A. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect lamp outage module connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Connect jumper wire between lamp outage module connector terminal No. 1 (Brown/Yellow wire) and terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Green wire). If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, replace lamp outage module. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between lamp outage module connector terminal No. 1 (Brown/Yellow wire) and ground. If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, repair open Black/Light Green wire between lamp outage module and ground. If EVIC panel does not display TAIL LAMP OUT, go to next step.
  5. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. With connectors connected, connect jumper wire between BCM Natural connector terminal No. 6 (Brown/Yellow wire) and ground. If EVIC panel displays TAIL LAMP OUT, repair open Brown/Yellow wire between BCM Natural connector and lamp outage module connector.
