Crank Angle Sensor: Installation

  1. If reference mark was not made as described in removal procedure, go to next step. If reference mark was made, install crank angle sensor by reversing removal procedure, then go to step 3).
  2. Rotate crankshaft clockwise until piston No. 1 is at TDC of compression stroke. Align punch mark on crank angle sensor housing with notch in plate. See Fig 1 . Install crank angle sensor.
  3. Adjust ignition timing. See appropriate ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Tighten crank angle sensor nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
