Motor Continues Running With Switch In Off Position

  1. Check wiper motor wiring harness for shorts between low speed motor feed terminal No. 3 or high speed motor feed terminal No. 2 and battery or ignition.
  2. Check for faulty wiper intermittent or HI-LO relay. Check circuit from intermittent relay cavity "B" to HI-LO relay cavity "B" for short to battery or ignition.
  3. Disconnect body controller Yellow 24-way J3 connector. See Figure . Check circuit from terminal No. 1 of J3 connector to terminal "C" of intermittent wiper relay for short to ground.
  4. Using a voltmeter, connect positive lead to terminal No. 16 of body controller J3 connector. Connect negative lead to ground. If voltmeter reads more than zero volts, check wiper switch and wiring.
  5. Using voltmeter, connect positive lead to terminal No. 10 of body controller J3 connector. If voltmeter reads 10-15 volts, check circuit for short to battery or ignition. If voltmeter reads zero volts, replace body controller.
