Test SC-NF-5 - Repairing Cruise Control Resume/Set Switch Open
NOTE:
Perform TEST SC-NF-1
before proceeding.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect and inspect cruise control RES/ACCEL/SET/COAST switch 2-pin connector. If connector is not okay, repair it as necessary. Perform the VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER . If connector is okay, connect a jumper wire between cruise control RES/ACCEL/SET/COAST switch connector terminal No. 1, mode select sense circuit (White wire) and terminal No. 2, ground circuit (Black wire).
- Using DRB-II read cruise control inputs monitor. If DRB-II S/C ON/OFF SW input displays OFF, replace cruise control RES/ACCEL/SET/COAST switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER . If DRB-II S/C ON/OFF SW input does not display OFF, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Using DRB-II, check resistance at cruise control RES/ACCEL/SET/COAST switch connector terminal No. 2, ground circuit (Black wire).
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire to cruise control RES/ACCEL/SET/COAST switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open in White wire between cruise control RES/ACCEL/SET/COAST switch and clockspring. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER .
