Brake Switch

Brake switch is mounted on brake pedal support bracket. Brake switch is used as an input to PCM during deceleration and full stop conditions. Together with other inputs, brake switch is used to maintain engine idle speed by controlling Automatic Idle Speed (AIS) motor position.
