Self-Diagnostic Check

  1. If cruise control system automatically cancels without driver canceling system operation or cruise control system cannot be set after automatic cancellation, check for diagnostic codes. See RETRIEVING CODES  . Compare diagnostic codes with SELF-DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAY PATTERNS and perform indicated test. See Fig 1 .
  2. If cruise control system can be set, road test vehicle to see if problem reoccurs. If problem does not reoccur, vehicle may have been driven on a steep grade causing automatic cancel without driver canceling system.
  3. If problem reoccurs, check for diagnostic codes. See RETRIEVING CODES  . Compare diagnostic codes with SELF-DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAY PATTERNS and perform indicated test. See Fig 1 .
