Fuel Level Sensor Test
- Using 12-volt test light with 3.4-watt bulb, connect positive battery terminal to fuel gauge sending unit connector. See Fig 1 . Use jumper wire to ground fuel gauge sending unit connector to battery.
- Put sending unit in container of water so thermistor sensor is submerged. See Fig 1 . If test light DOES NOT come on, sensor is okay. If test light does come on, replace sending unit.
CAUTION:
After completing fuel level sensor test, wipe or blow sending unit dry before installing into fuel tank.
