MPI Control Relay

NOTE: For internal wiring diagram of MPI control relay, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  1. MPI Control Relay is loacated near right kick panel. Check for battery voltage at terminal No. 4 of relay harness connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. If battery voltage is not present, check circuit between relay and battery, including fusible link No. 3. Repair as necessary. If battery voltage is present, remove control relay. Continuity should be present between terminals No. 5 and 7.
  3. Continuity should be present, in one direction, between terminals No. 6 and 8. Apply battery voltage to terminal No. 7, and ground terminal No. 5. Battery voltage should be present at terminal No. 1.
  4. Apply battery voltage to terminal No. 8, and ground terminal No. 6. Check continuity, in turn, between terminal No. 4 and following: terminals No. 2 and 3. Continuity should be present. Replace relay if it does not test as specified.
