Fuel Tank (3.0L VIN U): Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fuel tank mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table at end of article. Install fuel tank support strap.
  2. Tighten top nut until distance between bottom of strap bolt and strap is 2" (54 mm). Reconnect negative battery cable. Fill fuel tank. Turn ignition switch to ON position to pressurize fuel system. Check fuel system for leaks.
