Fuel Pump (3.0L VIN U): Installation

  1. Ensure gasket mating surfaces are clean. Position new gasket on fuel pump/sending unit. Install fuel pump/sending unit. Ensure fuel pump/sending unit is positioned with fuel and vapor tubes pointing to the right side of the tank (when tank is installed). Hold fuel pump/sending unit in position and tighten clamp.
  2. Install fuel tank. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Lightly lubricate fuel line quick-connectors with engine oil prior to reconnecting fuel line retainer tabs. Fill fuel tank. Turn ignition switch to ON position to pressurize fuel system. Check fuel system for leaks.
