Test SP-16A Code 77, Cruise Control Power Relay Circuit
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect cruise control relay. Inspect connector. If connector condition is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If connector condition is okay, turn ignition switch to ON position. Place DRB-II in volt-meter mode.
- Probe terminal No. 2 (Dark Blue/White wire) at cruise control relay connector. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals H1 and H2 at cruise control relay. See Fig 1 . If resistance is more than 100 ohms, replace cruise control relay. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If resistance is less than 100 ohms, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Single Board Engine Controller (SBEC) connector.
- Inspect connector. If connector condition is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If connector condition is okay, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between terminal No. 55 (Black/Light Blue wire) and terminal No. 1 (Violet/White wire) at cruise control relay connector.
- If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair open Violet/White or Black/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, place DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 55 (Black/Light Blue wire) at SBEC connector.
- If resistance is less than 10 ohms, repair short to ground in Violet/White or Black/Light Blue wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER . If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace SBEC. Perform VERIFICATION TEST SP-VER .
