Fuel Pump (3.0L VIN U): Removal

  1. Fuel pump is attached to fuel gauge sending unit and is located inside fuel tank. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE in this article.
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel tank. See FUEL TANK under FUEL SYSTEM in this article. Using a screwdriver, loosen fuel pump retaining clamp. Note position of fuel pump/sending unit and carefully pull fuel pump/sending unit out from fuel tank.
