Vacuum Pump

  1. Disconnect vacuum pump connector. Check resistance between vacuum pump connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2 and between terminals No. 1 and No. 3. See Fig 1 . Resistance should be 50-60 ohms.
  2. Using a 12-volt battery, connect negative battery lead to vacuum pump connector terminal No. 1 and positive battery lead to terminal No. 2 and then to terminal No. 3. Vacuum pump solenoid valve should make an operating sound when battery voltage is applied. If no operating sound can be heard, replace vacuum pump assembly.
  3. Apply negative battery lead to vacuum pump connector terminal No. 1 and positive battery lead to terminal No. 4. Check that motor operates when battery voltage is applied. Replace vacuum pump if it does not test as specified.
