Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor (Calif. Models)

  1. Remove exhaust gas temperature sensor, located below EGR valve. Place sensing portion of exhaust gas temperature sensor in water.
  2. Gradually heat water and read resistance values across terminals. See EGR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table. Replace exhaust gas temperature sensor if not within specification.
