Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect TPS electrical connectors. Remove TPS mounting screws. Remove electrical wire harness mounting bracket screws. Remove TPS. To install, reverse removal procedure. Adjust TPS.
  2. To adjust TPS, turn ignition on, engine off. DO NOT  unplug the TPS wire harness connector. Insert digital volt-ohm meter leads through the back of the wire harness connector.
  3. TPS connector is marked "A", "B" and "C". Insert negative lead of voltmeter in terminal "B" and positive lead to terminal "C". Reading should be 5 volts.
  4. Insert voltmeter negative lead in terminal "B" and positive lead in terminal "A". Reading should be .4 volts. To adjust, loosen TPS retaining screws and pivot sensor to obtain correct reading.
