Visual Inspection

A careful and thorough visual inspection of components may quickly identify cause of malfunction and eliminate the need for diagnostic testing. Perform visual inspection using the following procedure:

  1. Completely depress brake pedal 40 times and check brake fluid level. Inspect hydraulic assembly for leaks and for damaged or unplugged connectors. Inspect all brake fluid lines for any leaks or damage.
  2. Ensure all ABS relays are properly installed in power distribution center. Power distribution center is located in engine compartment, next to strut tower.
  3. Inspect all 4 wheel speed sensors and their 2-way connectors for damage or disconnection. Inspect Anti-Lock Brake Controller (CAB) for secure mounting and CAB connector for damage or loose connection. CAB is located under battery tray or on right front strut tower.
