Description & Operation

Fuel vapors in fuel tank pass through valves of the fuel tank and into canister through hose. At the canister, vapors are absorbed by carbon/charcoal mixture and stored. This controls any pressure that may occur in fuel tank when engine is not running.

A hose connects canister to air cleaner snorkel. Inside of snorkel is in the shape of a venturi, it draws vapor out of canister into intake airflow. Airflow will pass through throttle body and intake manifold to be burned in combustion chamber. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
