CROSSMEMBER, Transmission: Installation

  1. Install the transmission crossmember (1) and install the crossmember bolts (2).
  2. Tighten the transmission crossmember to frame bolts (2) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Remove the lifting device.
  4. Install the rear transmission crossmember to transmission mount bolts (3) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to 8HP50/850RE, TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS or 8HP70, TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS or 8HP95, TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Position the transmission crossmember reinforcement brackets.
  6. Install the transmission crossmember reinforcement bracket bolts and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Install the transmission skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, TRANSMISSION, INSTALLATION .
