Sensor, Coolant Temperature: Removal
WARNING:
Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant temperature sensor.
NOTE:
Do not waste reusable coolant. If solution is clean, drain coolant into a clean container for reuse.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the fasteners and the right lower shield.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING .
- Remove support and lower the vehicle.
- Remove the air cleaner resonator. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .
- Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL
.
- Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Release the lock tab (3) on the bottom of the ECT sensor (2), then rotate the ECT sensor 1/4 turn counter clockwise to remove.
