The Park Assist Module (PAM) (also known as the ParkTronic System/PTS module) is secured with two retainers and two screws through two mounting tabs integral to the module housing to a stamped metal mounting bracket. The bracket and PAM are secured to the right quarter inner between the inner and outer panels just behind the right rear wheel house at the rear of the vehicle. The module is concealed within the body side behind the inner quarter trim in the cargo area of the vehicle. Concealed within the molded plastic PAM housing is a microcontroller and the other electronic circuitry of the module. The module housing is sealed to enclose and protect the internal electronic circuitry.

Two connector receptacles (A and B) containing terminal pins are integral to the downward-facing side of the module housing. The module is connected to the vehicle electrical system through a dedicated take out and connector of the body wire harness and a jumper harness connects it to the park assist sensor wire harness.

The PAM cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if damaged or ineffective, it must be replaced with a new unit. The PAM software is flash programmable.
