Draining The Cooling System

NOTE:

Make sure the coolant is not HOT and under pressure.

NOTE:

DO NOT WASTE reusable coolant. If the solution is clean, drain the coolant into a clean container for reuse.

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
When the engine is cold, remove the filler cap from the pressurized coolant bottle.

NOTE:
Recover the coolant into a suitable container.

NOTE:
The radiator is NOT equipped with a draincock.
Position a drain pan under the lower radiator hose.
Disengage the quick-connect coupling (1) and carefully remove the lower radiator inlet hose from the radiator.

Open the drain valve (1) on the right rear of the radiator.

If equipped, open the bleed valve (1) on the return line from the heater core.
