Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

Using a siphon pump, remove as much power steering fluid as possible from the power steering fluid reservoir.

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove the power steering rear bracket nut and the power steering rear bracket bolt (1).

  4. Remove and discard the supply hose clamp (1) and remove the supply hose from the power steering pump.
  5. Remove the power steering pump pressure hose fitting (2) and discard the washers.
  6. Remove the three pump mounting bolts through the pump pulley.
  7. Remove the power steering pump and pulley from the vehicle.
  8. Separate the power steering pulley from the power steering pump.
  9. Remove the power steering rear bracket bolt and separate the power steering rear bracket from the power steering pump.
