Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to COIL, IGNITION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NOTE:

    Prior to loosening the spark plug, use compressed air to blow out any debris that might be in the spark plug tube.

  4. Remove the spark plug using a quality socket with a rubber or foam insert.
  5. Inspect the spark plug condition.
