Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the exhaust manifold

    Refer to MANIFOLD, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Unlock and disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector (3).
  4. Remove the mounting bolt (2) and the knock sensor (1).
