Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Thoroughly clean the knock sensor mounting hole.
    CAUTION:

    Over or under tightening the knock sensor mounting bolt will affect knock sensor performance, possibly causing improper spark control. Always use the specified torque when installing the knock sensor. Do not apply any adhesive, sealant or thread locking compound to the bolt.

  2. Install the knock sensor (1) with the mounting bolt (2) tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect and lock the electrical connector (3).
  4. Install the exhaust manifold

    Refer to MANIFOLD, EXHAUST, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
