Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove the nut (2) and the heatshield (1).

  4. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector (1).
  5. Remove the stud bolt (3) and Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (2) from the front of the cylinder head.

  6. The CMP sensor O-ring seal can be reused if not damaged.
