Rear Suspension: Spring(S): Installation
- Place the leaf spring (4) on top of the axle.
- Raise the jack guiding the leaf springs into the mounted position. Continue to raise the jack until the leaf spring mounting bolts (2, 8) can be installed.
- Install the rear bolt and nut (2, 3). Do not tighten at this time.
- Install the front bolt and nut (8, 7). Do not tighten at this time.
- Install the spring plate (1) and U-bolts (5).
- Install the washers (3) and nuts (2). Tighten the nuts to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the lower shock bolt and nut (2). Do not tighten at this time.
- Remove the jack from under the axle.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly Install and tighten wheel mounting bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to INSTALLATION or WHEELS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Position the vehicle on an alignment rack/drive-on lift. Raise the lift as necessary to access the rear suspension while keeping the vehicle at curb (riding) height.
- Check for proper vehicle curb height. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE

- Tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolt nut (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the leaf spring nuts (3, 7) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
