Coil, Ignition: Removal: Left

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the upper intake manifold and insulator, without removing the upper intake manifold from the engine compartment, leaving the fresh air inlet and front cowl panel in place

    Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL .

  3. Support the upper intake manifold (1) in order to gain access to the ignition coils (2).

  4. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the ignition coil.
  5. Remove the ignition coil mounting bolt (3).
  6. Pull the ignition coil (2) from cylinder head cover opening with a slight twisting action.
