Pipe, Exhaust Extension: Installation

1. Install the exhaust pipe (2) and tighten clamp nut (1) to 55 N.m (41 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect the isolator (3) to the exhaust pipe hanger rod.
3. Install the exhaust tail pipe. Refer to TAILPIPE, EXHAUST, INSTALLATION .
4. Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. A minimum of 25 mm (1.0 in.) is required between the exhaust system components and body/frame parts. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
6. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
