6.2L Supercharged
- Position the coolant hoses aside, position the generator to the engine and install the upper fastener(1).
- Install the fastener securing the coolant lines to the PCM bracket and tighten securely.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the lower fastener (1) through rear generator brace and install both lower fasteners.
- Tighten fasteners (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Tighten (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Tighten the fastener for the rear generator brace to engine mount to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Install the ground wire to the stud and tighten the fastener to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Snap the field wire connector (3) into the rear of the generator.
- Install the B+ terminal eyelet to the generator and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATION .
- Install the right front splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.CAUTION:
Never force a belt over a pulley rim using a screwdriver. The synthetic fiber of the belt can be damaged.
CAUTION:When installing a serpentine accessory drive belt, the belt must be routed correctly. The water pump may be rotating in the wrong direction if the belt is installed incorrectly, causing the engine to overheat. Refer to belt routing label in engine compartment, or Refer to the Belt Schematics in INSTALLATION .
- Install the Supercharger belt tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, DRIVE BELT, INSTALLATION
.
- Install the serpentine belt (1). Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install the negative battery cable.
