Battery, AGM: Installation

WARNING:

Wear a suitable pair of rubber gloves when removing a battery by hand. Safety glasses should also be worn. If the battery is cracked or leaking, the electrolyte can burn the skin and eyes.

  1. Install the battery into the vehicle.
  2. Install the battery holddown (1) into position and install the battery holddown retainers (2).

    Tighten the battery holddown bracket and the strap to tray nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  3. Install the battery thermal blanket (1).

    NOTE:

    Negative battery terminal shown, positive terminal similar.

  4. Position back the positive battery cable (2) and connect to the battery (1).
  5. Position back the negative battery cable and connect to the battery. Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  6. Install the battery cover (1).
  7. Move the passenger seat back to its original position.
