6.2L Single Fan

CAUTION:

When installing the cooling fan assembly, care must be used so that the fan shroud does not contact the radiator or the radiator fins. Damage may  cause leaking.

  1. Pushing slightly forward on the lower radiator support (2), install the cooling fan assembly (3) from the bottom of the vehicle.

  2. Engage the cooling fan (1) into the lower shroud retaining clips (2).

  3. Position the power steering hose to the cradle (2) and tighten the power steering hose retainer (1) securely.

  4. Tighten the lower radiator support (2) bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to 6.2L TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  5. Install the hose clamp and position the Low Temperature Radiator (LTR) crossover tube to the lower radiator support.
  6. Install the push pins (1) to the lower radiator support, securing the LTR crossover tube.

  7. Install the cooling fan retaining bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to 6.2L TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  8. Connect the cooling fan wire harness connector (2).
  9. Fill the LTR cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    NOTE:

    The LTR cooling system must be vacuum filled.

  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the fan for proper operation.
