Diesel Engine
- Using a lint free towel, wipe clean the open power steering pressure hose end and the power steering pump port. Replace any used O-rings with new. Lubricate the O-ring with clean power steering fluid.
- Place the pump in mounting position. Install the two mounting bolts (1) through the pulley (2) openings. Tighten the mounting bolts to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the rear mounting bolt (2) securing the rear of the pump (1). Tighten the mounting bolt to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION
.
- Install the supply hose (1) at the pump (2).
- Clamp the hose clamp (3) securing the supply hose (1) to the pump.
- Install the pressure hose (3) at the pump pressure port (4). Tighten the tube nut to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the pressure hose routing bracket bolt (2) to the engine mount (7). Tighten the bolt to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Check for leaks.
- Install the engine appearance cover.
