Module, Power Inverter: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the lower outer mounting bracket retainer and loosen the remaining fasteners (1).
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (2).

  5. Rotate the PIM to gain access to the screws (1) that fasten the PIM bracket (2) to the PIM and remove the mounting bracket.
  6. Remove the PIM from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the power inverter from the remaining mounting bracket.
